Verified Reviewer |Cheap plastic lens
The manager herself told me they sell “ cheap plastic lens”!!!’And that is why every pair was bad!! Yet they refuse to pay for my last 2 out of pocket expenses!!
I find that unethical. So don’t buy from Walmart
I was contacted by a Tammy who was from health and wellness. I explained everything!!
She only offered me $135 refund when I paid close to $500!!! She did not care what the manager told me - that they sell cheap plastic lenses!!!! They told her I had two months where I had to pay out of pocket which was $500 she said absolutely not. And when I asked if I could have her bosses number - she lied.
Imagine that. She gave me a number - I tried 5 different people all gave me different numbers. And once again - I’m without glasses. I contacted the better business bureau and more.
Because Tammy said they sell lenses for $20!! And that’s their cheap lenses!! So she also said they sell them!!! I find this to be unethical!!
And I contacted their ethics group. 10 times. Got no where. Promise after promise they said they would refund.
But I’m still here with no glasses. And nothing but lies from these people
The lenses cracked and the numbers on them were wrong. The lenses got foggy and the frames broke. Every pair was damaged. Now I have a pair again that is damaged, and they are making excuses, saying I didn't want to cook over at the stove.
I was in the sun too long, and now, of course, my prescription is overdue, so they say I need to see before I can have glasses. I've been without glasses for almost four months.
They are refusing to give me my money back. I talked to the manager at the store, who told me this, and I quote her: 'Walmart sold you cheap plastic lenses, and that is why you're having so many issues.' I even contacted the Walmart ethics group because they are selling cheap plastic lenses without telling people, because a manager even told me that, so I want my money back.
Preferred solution: I wanna refund for every pair of glasses I bought at Walmart and I want every penny pack so I can go somewhere else to get eye exam and classes that are not cheap or plastic I find it unethical that they’re selling these types of lenses
User's recommendation: Do not buy from Walmart Vision Center

Verified Reviewer |Glasses I purchased and employee
- - Prescription glasses caused ear pressure and a poor fit after two days.
- - Return/exchange was confusing; location rules and insurance delay 2-3 weeks.
I purchased a pair of prescription glasses. I tried them for two days and experienced pressure from one of the frame arms around the ear.
It was just not a good fit overall, and I am having issues returning them to get another pair. I went to another location to exchange them, and the manager said I needed to go back to the location where I purchased them.
I thought they could be returned at any Walmart optical location; that was my understanding, so I had to drive far to get from one store to the other. I brought them back to the location where I purchased them, and they said if I exchanged them with the insurance, it would take about 2 to 3 weeks to get another pair of glasses.
Preferred solution: Full refund
Wouldn’t fill my prescription

Complaining glasses are garbage
I bought glasses, paid good money, and the antiglare coating came off, creating a fog over the glasses. I was told they no longer use those lenses, and I'm stuck with them.
- Lenses are garbage

Verified Reviewer |$40.00 Add Charge for Frames I Purchased at ***
- - Long-time Walmart customer with yearly glasses.
- - No Walmart eye exam this year, and two Walmart frames were charged $20 each with the waiver refused.
For over 10 years, I have had my eye exam done at ***, and every year I purchase new frames and lenses, and then I have lenses put into two frames that I purchased at Walmart from previous years. The last two years the manager waived the $20 charge because I brought in the frames I previously purchased at ***.
I have never brought in frames that were not purchased at ***. This year I did not have my eyes examined at Walmart, but I did buy a new frame and lenses, and then I brought in two frames that I bought at Walmart and had lenses put in them and was charged $20 for each frame because they were my own. I asked the manager and she said she could not waive this charge. I feel it isn't fair that for over 10 years I have purchased all of my glasses at *** and now I am being charged a total of $40 to have lenses put in my frames.
Thank you for your assistance. ***
- Excellent customer service and reasonable prices
- Charge a fee on walmart frames to put lenses in

Verified ReviewerRefund from purchase of my glasses.
- - Paid Walmart bill by check for $79.10; insurance didn't pay on time.
- - Two days later I was told a refund check would arrive, but it hasn't.
I got a bill from Walmart that I paid by check for the balance due ($79.10) that my insurance supposedly didn't pay the same day the bill came. Then, two days later, I received another letter saying I would receive a check for the overpayment.
That was in June 2025, and I still haven't received it. I've called, and the people have told me that it shows on the books I'm due the refund, but so far, nothing.
User's recommendation: Don't pay any bills until the dust has settled from your insurance for services rendered.

Verified ReviewerResolved: Broken frame
- - Purchased Arcadia, FL glasses Dec 28 with a 12-month replacement guarantee.
- - Right temple broke; at Penfield, NY center, told NY no longer honors it.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product replacement. They replaced my broken frames which I had a guarantee for.
They did it because I called the original place where I purchased my glasses and they called the store here. They had to replace at no charge to me. Unless you purchased something online from Walmart, don’t bother calling customer service.
They only deal with goods purchased online. However, they recommended I call the actual store where I purchased my glasses and they made a few phone calls for me.
I purchased a pair of glasses from Walmart Vision Center in Arcadia, FL last December 28. I also purchased the 12 month guarantee which was if the frame projects or the glasses got scratched they would replace them at no charge.
The right temple frame broke last week, I took them to the nearest Walmart Vision Center in Penfield, NY and I was told that NY no longer honors the guarantee?
I need glasses to drive and they wont honor the guarantee that I purchased last December? Why is that?
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified ReviewerComplain and getting help fixing issue
- - Meta smartglasses arrived broken after staff heated frames.
- - Third visit: left lens loose and blurry; safety glasses have the same issue; refund sought.
I am writing to formally report a serious issue with the Walmart Vision Center in Hallandale, Florida, regarding the mismanagement and damage of my $800 Ray-Ban Meta Smartglasses and a second pair of $200 safety glasses, both of which were made with my most recent prescription (issued just over two weeks ago).
Multiple Incidents of Negligence:
1. The first pair of Meta Smartglasses arrived broken because the staff heated the frames during lens fitting—a reckless move given that Meta glasses contain delicate electronics and should never be heated. This was either ignorance or total disregard for proper procedure.
2. I was then called to pick up the glasses a second time, only to find they weren't even ready. This wasted my time, pulled me away from work, and showed disorganization at best, negligence at worst.
3. On the third visit, the new pair had a loose left lens that literally falls out, and the lens is blurry for both near and distance vision—clearly not aligned with my prescription. The same problem exists in the safety glasses, which proves the error is systematic.
4. I experienced rude and condescending treatment from one of the staff members who asked me, 'Are you going to allow me to help you, sir?' in a tone that was clearly dismissive. I questioned the behavior, but the attitude continued.
Pattern of Poor Optical Practices:
I have since found similar complaints online from other Meta customers who had their glasses damaged at optical chains like LensCrafters and Walmart. This shows a wider problem with improperly trained staff damaging expensive electronic eyewear, especially when handling Meta or smart glasses with transition lenses. I'm expecting a refund.

User's recommendation: Nikki, the manager was rude. When I met her in person we got on the phone. It’s recorded y’all can listen to it. I was rude. She was rude. She was saying don’t disrespect me. Don’t disrespect me. She acted like that too and Office all I ask her do was do with the policy said I bought my glasses in February. They’re they’re good for a year to be replaced. They use the cleaning solution that does scratch the little mama thing. It’s like a big huge Like cloud on my glasses now from that little alcohol thing.

I have been getting my glasses, contacts and sunglasses through Walmart for the past 30 years. I have never had a problem until now.
I got a pair of glasses in October and I refused the warranty because Ive never had an issue there before and my lens are so scratched up Right now that I cant even see out of them.
I dont wear them any differently than I wore the many pairs of glasses, Ive bought from you before and so I believe the lenses are faulty lens. I hope that you can resolve this issue since I have been a very loyal customer.

I need my glasses to see. The stuff they used to reduce glare started wearing off in July and it got worse.
They told me I have to buy new lenses because it was over 60 days, I got my glasses in Apri.
Total disregard for the customer. I'm a disabled Senior Citizen.
User's recommendation: Don't go to Walmart vision center the stuff the use to stop the glare wear off in spots leaving them unusable and they won't fix the problem after 60 days. That's when the stuff starts sitting off
